I'm Liam Foley, and I founded Blackwater Motor Works in 2011 after 15+ years working in the motor trade. I hold a City & Guilds qualification in Motor Vehicle Technology and I'm a registered member of the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI). Clutch Replacement — 2017 VW Golf 1.6 TDI

Engine Diagnostics — 2019 Toyota Corolla Hybrid

Solution: In-depth OBD-II diagnostics revealed a failing EGR valve causing incorrect exhaust gas recirculation. Valve cleaned and tested — the carbon build-up was the root cause, not a faulty valve, avoiding a €600 replacement part.

NCT Failure Recovery — 2015 Ford Focus 1.5 TDCi

Solution: We inspected and found only the front anti-roll bar drop links needed replacement (not the full suspension). Rear brakes were adjusted and cleaned rather than fully replaced. DPF was regenerated to clear the emissions issue.

Will using an independent garage void my car warranty?
No. Under the EU Block Exemption Regulation, you have the legal right to have your vehicle serviced at any independent garage without affecting your manufacturer warranty, provided the service is carried out to manufacturer specifications using appropriate parts. We service to manufacturer specifications and stamp your service book accordingly.
