I started in the building trade as a 16-year-old apprentice in 2026, learning the craft from the ground up on sites across Tipperary. By 2021 I had set up Greenfield Build & Renovate with one van and a determination to do things differently — honest quotes, clean sites, and a personal guarantee that I would be on site every day until the job was done right.
One project that shaped the way I work was a full house renovation in Cahir in 2021. The homeowner had been let down by another builder halfway through, and we stepped in to strip everything back and start again. It took 14 weeks weeks, but the result was a home the family were proud of — and it cemented our reputation in Clonmel. That project won a a regional home-renovation shortlisting and led to a steady stream of referrals that continues to this day.

Two-storey rear extension, Clonmel
A 1960s semi-detached house needed more space for a growing family. We added a two-storey rear extension, moved the kitchen to the garden side and upgraded the insulation across the whole ground floor. The family stayed in the house throughout. — The homeowners wanted to transform a dark, cramped kitchen into an open-plan living space. We removed a load-bearing wall (with full structural engineer sign-off), installed a steel beam, laid underfloor heating, and fitted a bespoke kitchen. The result opened up the entire ground floor and completely changed how the family uses their home.

Kitchen and utility refit, Cahir
A full strip-out and refit of a tired kitchen, plus a new utility room in a converted side porch. New wiring, new plumbing and a rebuilt floor slab, finished with underfloor heating. — This was a rear single-storey extension with full BC(A)R compliance. We worked closely with the homeowner's Assigned Certifier, submitted the commencement notice through the Building Control Management System, and coordinated all inspections. The extension added 35 sqm of bright, open living space with bi-fold doors to the garden.

Who will actually be working in my home?
Transparency is important to us. Pádraig Ryan personally manages every project and is on site daily. Any subcontractors we bring in — such as electricians or plumbers — are fully vetted, insured, and known to us from years of working together. We will always tell you in advance who will be on site and why. You will never have strangers in your home without prior notice.
