About — Waterford, Ireland
One person, who does the work himself.
FMOps is Fionn Murphy, a sole trader in Waterford. I make Irish small businesses easier to find, easier to run and easier to reach, with AI visibility, websites, automation and Claude installs. I do all of it myself and I work with clients across Ireland, mostly remotely.
No account managers, no handoffs, no juniors learning on your budget. You talk to the person who scopes the job, builds it and answers the phone afterwards.
Fionn Murphy, Waterford.
Who I am
I am Fionn Murphy. I grew up in Waterford and I run FMOps from here. By day I work in search visibility at a London SEO agency, where the job is getting businesses found in Google and, increasingly, in AI answers. In the evenings and at weekends I do the same kind of work for Irish small businesses under my own name.
FMOps opened for clients in 2026. It is a small, deliberate business. I take on a few clients at a time so that every piece of work is done by me, to a standard I would put my own name on. Which I do.
Why one person and not an agency
Because for a business of your size, one competent person is usually the better buy. An agency splits your fee between sales, account management and delivery, and the delivery is often the cheapest part. With FMOps the whole fee goes on the work, and the person you spoke to on the first call is the person who does it.
How the work runs
- 1
Free 30-minute call
You tell me what you do and who buys from you. I ask what has to happen. No pitch. If nothing would help yet, I say so.
- 2
Fixed quote in writing
One price for one agreed scope, before anything is built. Monthly services are month-to-month.
- 3
Build
You approve copy and layout before a website goes public. Automation is shown to you working on real cases before it goes live. A Claude install is one day on-site with your team.
- 4
30 days of fixes
After launch, anything that does not work as agreed is fixed at no charge. Then a short handover so you know what runs, when, and how to switch it off.
House rules
- One business per trade per town. If I work with a plumber in Dungarvan, I do not work with another plumber in Dungarvan. And I never work with my employer's clients or prospects.
- Plain-language reports. Every monthly report says what changed, why it moved, and what happens next, in words you do not need me to translate. Screenshots, not jargon.
- You own everything. The domain, the website, the automation workflows, the documents. No proprietary platform, no hostage hosting. If we stop working together, what is built keeps running.
- Nothing goes out without a person approving it. No email, invoice or web page leaves your business because a machine decided to send it.
- No guarantees on results, and no invented ones. I show you the trend every month. What I do not do is promise a number I cannot control.
Background
I work in search visibility by day at a London SEO agency. That means technical SEO, content, digital PR and, since the arrival of AI Overviews and ChatGPT-style answers, the newer discipline of getting a business named when someone asks an AI. FMOps applies the same methods at a size and price that suits an Irish small business.
Alongside that, I build automation and Claude workflows: connecting the tools a business already pays for so the repetitive jobs happen on their own, and setting up Claude for Work so a small team can use it safely on real email, files and accounts.
Where I've worked and credentials
- Operations Manager, Terrier Agency — London SEO agency · Sept 2025 to present. Day-to-day operations across SEO, GEO, PPC and link building for a multi-client agency: client delivery pipelines across technical SEO, content and paid campaigns; building and maintaining AI-powered automation for lead generation, reporting and campaign management; cold outreach and new-business qualification; link-building campaigns from prospect sourcing to placement tracking; Google Ads accounts for PPC clients; and developing GEO (generative engine optimisation) as a standalone service, getting clients named in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews.
- Personal Assistant to Ian Woods — Ran the day-to-day operations of a small online business so the owner could focus on the work itself. Fulfilled every order placed through the website, from confirmation to dispatch and follow-up; kept the website current, adding products, updating pages and fixing what broke; managed the inbox end to end, triaging, replying and escalating only what needed the owner; and was the first point of contact for new and existing clients, handling enquiries, quotes and scheduling. It was where I first saw how much of a small business is repeatable admin, and started building the systems that FMOps now sells.
- Director, Imagine Arts Festival — Waterford · Oct 2018 to Aug 2019. Led the annual multi-arts festival for a year: programming across music, theatre, visual art and spoken word; booking artists and venues and managing their contracts and schedules; coordinating a volunteer crew across the festival week; marketing and audience communications; and keeping the whole thing on budget with sponsors, funders and suppliers. Delivering a city-wide event with a small team, on time and on budget, is the closest thing to running a small business that is not one.
Certifications and training: to be added. Nothing is listed here that I do not hold.
Tools I use
- AI visibility: a prompt-set scoreboard I run myself against ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews; Google Search Console; schema and entity tooling.
- Websites: hand-written HTML and CSS, deployed on Vercel, checked with Lighthouse. Fast, static, no plugins to break. WordPress where a client already has it.
- Automation: Make.com and n8n, connected to Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Xero, HubSpot, GoHighLevel and whatever else you already pay for.
- Claude for Business: Claude for Work with connectors to Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, plus the Claude API where a workflow needs it.
This site is built the same way as client sites: static HTML, no builder, no tracking beyond Google Analytics.
