Claude Team pricing in Ireland: what it really costs in euro

By Fionn Murphy · Published 17 Aug 2026 · 9 min read

Claude Team pricing in Ireland is simple once you convert it: about €17 per seat per month on the annual plan, about €22 billed monthly, minimum two seats. Anthropic lists prices in US dollars, so every euro figure on this page is approximate. The licence is rarely the number that decides anything — setup and training are.

Bar chart of approximate euro seat prices: Claude Pro €15 annual and €17 monthly, Claude Team €17 annual and €22 monthly.
The licence is rarely the number that decides anything.

This guide gives the euro cost of Claude Pro, Team and Enterprise for an Irish small business, the VAT position, when the API is cheaper than seats, and the honest total for a supported setup. Prices were checked in August 2026 at a rate of about €1 = $1.16 and change often. Always confirm against Anthropic's pricing page before you budget.

What does Claude Team cost per seat?

Anthropic lists Claude Team at $20 per seat per month billed annually, or $25 per seat billed monthly (checked August 2026). There is also a premium seat with much higher usage limits at $100 annually or $125 monthly, aimed at heavy users who run long research or coding sessions all day.

In euro, at about $1.16 to the euro:

Worked examples on the annual plan, licences only: three seats about €52 a month, five seats about €86 a month, ten seats about €173 a month or roughly €2,070 a year. Self-serve Team runs from 2 up to 150 users, so almost every Irish SME fits inside it.

Euro figures move with the exchange rate. Treat them as a budgeting guide, not a quote.

Annual or monthly?

Annual saves about 20 per cent and locks the seat count for a year. Monthly costs more but lets you add and drop seats as people join and leave. My advice for a first purchase: run monthly for the first two or three months while you find out who actually uses it, then switch the settled seats to annual. Paying twelve months up front for licences nobody opens is the most common waste I see.

Claude Pro vs Team vs Enterprise: what does each price buy?

Pro is a personal subscription. One person, one login, no admin, no business Data Processing Addendum. It is fine for a sole trader working on their own material. It is the wrong plan for anything holding customer personal data.

Team is the business plan for most Irish SMEs. The extra money buys central billing, an admin who can add and remove staff, shared Projects so everyone works from the same context, higher usage limits, single sign-on on the higher tiers, and the commercial terms that carry the DPA. That last one is why Team is the right answer the moment customer data is involved — see is Claude GDPR compliant in Ireland.

Enterprise is quoted by Anthropic's sales team. It adds enterprise SSO and SCIM provisioning, audit logs, larger context and usage, and negotiated terms. A self-serve Enterprise tier prices seats plus usage at API rates. For a 3–30 person firm it is usually more than you need.

What about VAT for an Irish business?

Anthropic contracts with EEA customers through Anthropic Ireland, Limited, and the list prices you see are before tax. If you supply a valid Irish VAT number, the supply is generally treated as business-to-business and reverse charged: you account for the VAT in your own return and reclaim it in the same return, so the net cost is the list price. Without a VAT number you pay Irish VAT on top. Confirm the treatment with your accountant. This is general information, not tax advice.

Is the API cheaper than seats?

They answer different questions. Seats are for people typing. The API is for work that runs without anybody watching: sorting the inbox overnight, drafting a quote the moment a form is submitted, pulling the weekly report together, tagging leads in the CRM.

API pricing is pay per token, priced per million tokens by model, so a background job that handles a few hundred short tasks a month often costs a few euro. Rates differ by model and change, so price your specific job against Anthropic's current API rates rather than a rule of thumb. Most firms end up with both: Team seats for staff, plus a small API spend behind two or three automations. That is the overlap between the Claude line and business automation work, and it is where the biggest savings usually sit.

What is the total cost of a Claude setup in Ireland?

Licences are the small part. A full setup with FMOps looks like this:

  • Claude licences: paid directly to Anthropic at the public price, with no mark-up from me. About €17 per seat per month on the annual plan.
  • Setup: from €1,750 once. Workspace and roles, connectors to your stack, three to five shared Projects loaded with your tone guide, price list and process docs, two or three Skills for the jobs that repeat weekly, a one-page data policy (see how FMOps handles Claude data and GDPR), and team training.
  • Support: from €600 a month, optional. New Skills as needs appear, connector upkeep, model updates and a monthly usage review.

For a five-person firm that is roughly €1,750 up front, then about €690 a month with support or about €90 a month without. Payback is straightforward to test: at a notional €40 an hour, the supported package needs to save about 17 hours a month across five people. Most firms find that in quoting, email and reporting alone, but count it for your own business before you sign anything.

You can also do it yourself. Anthropic now ships one-click connectors and setup is much easier than it was — which is exactly the right question to ask before you hire anyone. I answer it honestly in do I still need a Claude consultant?, and the step-by-step is in how to set up Claude for a small business team.

Can a voucher cover part of the cost of AI?

The Grow Digital Voucher offers up to €5,000 at 50 per cent co-funding through your Local Enterprise Office for digital adoption projects, and AI implementation is the kind of work it is designed for. Eligibility, scope and approval are decided by your LEO, not by me or by any supplier. Apply and get written approval before you spend, because retrospective claims are usually refused. More detail: using the voucher for AI.

How does the price compare to the alternatives?

Close enough that price should not decide it. Microsoft 365 Copilot is about €15.60 per user per month on an annual plan on top of a Microsoft 365 licence, and ChatGPT Business sits at the same $20 to $25 per seat as Claude Team. The head-to-heads are here: Claude vs Copilot and Claude vs ChatGPT. Pick on fit and on how well you will roll it out, not on two euro a seat.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Claude Team cost in Ireland?

Anthropic prices Claude Team in US dollars: $20 per seat per month billed annually, or $25 per seat billed monthly, with a minimum of two seats (checked August 2026). At about €1 = $1.16 that is roughly €17 or €22 per seat per month, so a five-person team costs about €86 a month on the annual plan. Conversions are approximate and your card issuer's rate will differ. Check claude.com/pricing for the current figures.

How much does Claude cost for a business in Ireland?

Three numbers make up the total. Licences: roughly €17 to €22 per seat per month on Team. Setup: FMOps charges from €1,750 once for workspace configuration, connectors, shared Projects, a data policy and team training. Optional support: from €600 a month. A five-person firm doing a full setup is about €1,750 up front and about €690 a month with support, or about €90 a month for licences alone if you set it up yourself.

What is the difference in price between Claude Pro, Team and Enterprise?

Pro is the individual plan at $17 per month billed annually ($200 up front) or $20 monthly, roughly €15 to €17. Team is $20 per seat billed annually or $25 monthly, roughly €17 to €22, with a two-seat minimum. Enterprise is quoted by Anthropic's sales team, and a self-serve Enterprise option prices seats plus usage at API rates. Prices checked August 2026.

What does Claude Team add over Claude Pro?

Central billing and an admin who can add and remove people, shared Projects so the whole team works from the same context, higher usage limits, single sign-on on the higher tiers, and the commercial terms that include the Data Processing Addendum. Pro is a personal subscription with no admin controls and no business DPA, which is why it should not hold customer data.

Do Irish businesses pay VAT on Claude subscriptions?

If you give Anthropic a valid Irish VAT number, the supply is generally treated as business-to-business and reverse charged, so you account for the VAT in your own return rather than paying it to Anthropic. Without a VAT number you pay VAT at the Irish rate on top of the list price. Confirm the treatment with your accountant; this is not tax advice.

Can a grant pay for a Claude setup?

Possibly. The Grow Digital Voucher offers up to €5,000 at 50 per cent co-funding through your Local Enterprise Office, and digital adoption work such as AI implementation is the kind of project it is meant for. Eligibility and scope are decided by the LEO, not by me. Ask your LEO before you commit to any spend, and get the approval in writing first.

Is the API cheaper than seats?

For staff who chat with Claude every day, seats are simpler and usually cheaper. For automation that runs in the background, such as sorting an inbox or drafting quotes from form submissions, the API is pay per token and often costs a few euro a month. Most firms use both: seats for people, API for the automated steps.
